Piano Stand Build for Yamaha P125/P225 – Easy

Below is a full tutorial on how I designed and built the stand

This was back in 2022. My daughter Ciara is still playing the piano as of 2026. Her latest piece is the famous Fur Elise by Beethoven

Why build your own Stand:

  • Save money
  • Simple and easy to make
  • Higher quality materials
  • Looks a lot better than original
  • A lot more durable

I made the stand in May 2022, soon after purchasing the piano.

For the build, you will need a sheet of 5/8″ (16mm) reasonable-quality plywood, like WBP. You will also need a 2′ (600mm) piece of scrap lumber for the feet. If you have some power tools, it will speed up the project; however, it can be built with just a few hand tools. You can make your own pair of ‘L’ brackets (like I did), 4pcs M5 machine screws, various wood screws, and wood glue. For finishing, we used a can of primer spray and a can of matte black.
