Introduction:
I purchased the Supernova Prima 2 in June 2025 because I wanted a more comfortable shoe for long-distance running. I had run two previous marathons in plated shoes, but I had recurring ankle injuries throughout 2024. The Prima 2 seemed to fit the bill, although I was quite concerned about durability in the first few weeks. The first video review I made below was after only 45 km of road running, and in it, I aired my concern about sole wear.
I recorded the video above in July 2025, soon after I purchased them with only 45km covered.
By January 2026, I had covered 452 km, including three full marathons
Putting in the Miles
Throughout July and August of 2025, I covered a lot of distance in the Prima 2. This included the Maasin City Marathon on August 3, followed by the Bohol International Marathon some three weeks later. In October, I had to go to Europe for a couple of weeks, and did not get back into training until mid-December. I had put my name down for the Cebu City Marathon in November on the last day of entry, so I had to get some training done.
After Christmas celebrations, Cebu came along. On January 11, 2026, I completed the tough CCM for the second consecutive year. You can see the wear on the shoes in the second video.
Conclusion
Throughout my time with these Supernova Prima 2 running shoes, I have had zero issues with my ankles. They may not be as fast as the Boston 12 or Adizeo Adios Pro 3, but at my age, I prefer to run a bit slower than not at all.
For the near future, I will avoid using plated shoes. I have just a pair of ASICS Superblast 2 shoes, and I will do a full review when I have covered some distance
